The secret art of recipe writing

Veteran storyteller and community food historian Liz Harfull is passionate about telling the stories of everyday people, and capturing the generational knowledge of experienced home cooks. She has written two international-award winning books that involved working with traditional recipes to make them accessible to modern day cooking enthusiasts, including the much-loved Blue Ribbon Cookbook, about South Australian country shows and show-cooking competitions, and Tried Tested and True, about the women behind community fundraising cookbooks such as South Australia’s iconic Green and Gold. Originally from Mount Gambier, today Liz lives in the Adelaide Hills, occasionally finding time to bake scones and make jam while juggling a busy writing career and volunteer work as a community historian.

Participants need to bring: paper, pens and a copy of a favourite family recipe.
